Starting off the New Year right, we are talking about what it takes to be a Christian. Too many believe that they are not "qualified" to be a Christian. It is not about what we bring, but who we are willing to be.

If you were to ask, most people believe that after death they will go to heaven. Yet if you were to delve deeper, they probably could not give a definitive answer as to why. The majority of "religious" people think that merely wanting to go to heaven, or even just dying, is the guarantee of their heavenly reward. They are terribly mistaken. This lesson examines what the Bible says about those with a false sense of their salvation.

There is a particular expression used throughout the New Testament: "Mystery". Jesus and the Apostles speak about the Mystery of the Kingdom, of the Gospel, of God. What is this mystery about which they are speaking? This lesson looks at the meaning of the Mystery of Christ.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of the Christian here in this world is the priviledge of prayer. The Bible teaches that there are means to making prayer effective. This lesson seeks to understand the importance of persistence in prayer.

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

The Bible is full of many words that have a powerful meaning. Sometimes the depth of meaning can be lost, either because of the doctrines of men, or because of the need for deeper study. Justification and Sanctification are such words, which require us to be diligent in studying the Word. This lesson looks to see how the Bible defines these ideas.

A Creed is a stated belief of a religious organization. Most every church or denomination has at least one creed with which they identify themselves. Many people find it hard to believe that a creed can be a tool of division and error. This lesson examines why creeds are NOT part of God's desire for His church.

Scripture gives a number of conditions or actions that are necessary to be saved; these are not works or merits, but expectations from God to receive His free gift of eternal life. Perhaps the most mentioned quality we are expected to possess is Faith. Faith is not merely believing, but a complex response to God's revelation. What most people claim to be faith is not. This lesson looks at three segments of Faith: the Heart of Faith, the Mind of Faith, and the Body of Faith.
